Summer at Salsa Secrets means more time on the floor, more chances to dance outside, and a little something for every level. Here's what's coming up.
Salsa in the Park
Tuesdays in July, 6:00 to 8:30pm
Front Pavilion at Stratham Hill Park
Salsa in the Park is one of our favorite events of the year. It's free, it's outside, and it's for everyone, dancers, community members, and families alike. No partner needed. We'll start with a 30 minute salsa footwork combination, then open it up for social dancing under the summer sky.
This event happens thanks to our friends at Stratham Parks and Recreation, and we're grateful for the space they give us to bring the community together.
Summer Dance Camp
Thursdays, July 9, 16, 23, 8:00 to 9:30pm
Three weeks, three dances. Summer Dance Camp is our Latin Flavor series built for the absolute beginner, a chance to try Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata and get a real feel for how we teach. No partner needed, no experience needed, just a willingness to show up.
Underground Salsa
Thursdays, 6:30 to 8pm
For our intermediate and advanced dancers, Underground Salsa is where things get creative. We built this series around combos with multiple intro and resolution options, door numbers one, two, three, and beyond. It's a workout for the mind as much as the body.
Two years of formal training required.
Sunset Salsa Cruise
Tuesday, August 18, boarding at 6:30pm, cruising 7:00 to 9:30pm
Aboard the M/V Thomas Laighton
Step off the dance floor and onto the deck. For two and a half hours we'll groove under the evening sky, surrounded by the views of Portsmouth Harbor and the Isles of Shoals. This one is 21+, cash bar only, and we're keeping ticket sales limited so everyone has room to really dance.
This is shaping up to be a full summer of dancing together, and we can't wait to share it with you. And if you know someone who's been meaning to try this, this is a good summer to bring them along.
