Introduction
Salsa On 2
This workshop is designed for intermediate Salsa on 1 dancers looking to expand their dance repertoire to include Salsa on 2 aka NY Style Salsa aka Mambo. Becoming a successful Salsa on 2 dancer requires one to be confident with counting music and understanding syncopated beats. Within this lesson we’ll break down the count to develop your muscle memory for it. While all the salsa moves you already know will be possible in Salsa on 2, just as in Salsa on 1, they’ll feel different on 2 because of the syncopation of your steps. Once you’ve completed this lesson you’ll feel confident in understanding the rhythm of Salsa on 2 and you’ll start to be able to distinguish songs that feel On 1 or On 2 and choose to dance based on how it feels to you.
